Nice is well served by an international airport and
direct flights from the UK via the airports listed below. From the airport it
is just a 20 minute drive along the famous Promenade d'Anglais to the heart of
Nice and our apartments. |
Remember, generally the earlier you book, the cheaper the
flight. If you can book 2 or 3 months in advance there are some real bargains
available.

From the Airport....
It is a short (20 minute) taxi ride from the airport along
the lovely Promenade d'Anglais to the heart of Nice and the
apartments. Most taxi
drivers speak English. Expect to pay approximately £17-20. (24-28
Eur) Addresses for each of the apartments can be found
on their individual web pages. We send out detailed
instructions for finding and gaining access to each of
the apartments when we send out the keys.
Parking
Driving
and parking along the Cote d'Azur is typically French and traffic during high
season can be a problem. We are very lucky
with apartments 1 and 2 and free on street parking is
normally possible within just a short walk of the
apartment.
With apartment 4 it is possible to rent a garage
space at extra cost.

Rental Cars
 |
Rental cars can be picked up at the airport.
We have always found National/CITER to be the
cheapest in Nice: www.nationalcar.co.uk
Alternatively if you just wish to rent a car
for a short part of your stay there is a car
rental agency on the port side. They speak good
English:

Rail/Bus Links and Information
 |
The French rail system is excellent. There are
several trains daily between Paris and Nice. The trip takes between 5 and 6
hours and is very reasonably priced. How about a two city break? |
It is necessary to book a TGV in advance:
www.sncf.com
It would be very simple to combine a trip South through
France with the Eurostar and a one way return flight home:
www.eurostar.co.uk
Trains running along the coast pass through Nice every
15-20 minutes. Cannes is 30-40 minutes away, Antibes 20 minutes, Monaco 20-30
minutes.
The Riquier train station is just a short walk from the
apartment.
The Isle de Beaute, at the Northern end of the port
is well served with buses for getting around Nice.
There is a fantastic bus service that runs all the
way to the Italian border along the coast. This is ideal
for exploring all the little villages to the East such
as Villefranche and Beaulieu. It is service number 100
and runs every 20 minutes in the summer.
